What is Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story?
It's the made up biopic of singer Dewey Cox.
The movie review
The unrated movie is somewhat funny. I watched the longer version and I can say it's not just 2-3 minutes more but 24 minutes. Frankly, I was expecting to laugh more with the added minutes but I did not. Since it's a biopic style movie, you see many historical references. For the younger crowd, some jokes might be lost on them but it's nice way to show them. John C. Reilly did a good job for his first main role(was it?).
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Blu-Ray) was encoded in AVC and last 2h00:19 for the long version and 1h36 for the theatrical. This Blu-Ray release has: 1 commentary(short/long), BD-Live and trailers (HD).
For some reason, I could not see the BD-Live feature. It only showed me a message to check my Internet connection which did work. The second disk have more extra.
Since I was renting online, I had to wait for Disk 2. The extras(all HD) are: full songs, deleted and extended scenes, improvised lines, Christmas song, fake sausage commercial, demo songs, featurettes, fake interview.
That's how it should be done.
Cast: John C. Reilly, Kristen Wiig, Jenna Fischer, Tim Meadows
Conclusion
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is a rent for any comedy fan and one of the best Blu-Ray in terms of extras I have seen so far. Two Blu-Rays for one movie.
