Starship Troopers 3: Marauders is latest in the Starship Troopers series: Do you want to know more? Got to love the Federal Network. :D

What is Starship Troopers 3: Marauders?

Johnny Rico is back to rescue a crew stranded on a BUG planet.

The movie review

The story offer more on the political side and you can say that I'm glad to have the first amendment. Oh wait! That's only for US citizen and I'm Canadian.  Okay, we have a similar thing here too. :D   A part from the political side, the action reminded me more of the first movie. The CGI was good most of the time. It way off a few times thus it look more like a cheap TV movie of the week then. Of course, it did not have $100M like the first movie had a decade ago but $20M.

Starship Troopers 3: Marauders (Blu-Ray) was encoded in AVC and last 1h45. This Blu-Ray release has: 2 commentaries, 2 featurettes,  Marauder Mode(picture in picture),  BD-Live, trailers (HD and 1 extended Music Video).

I tried for the first time the BD-Live feature(Internet connection needed). It took 1-2 minutes to load. You could upload your photo so that it's integrated into a clip, download ringtones, download movie trailers(SD or HD). ...Me, I download the Episode 2 featurette(SD or HD options) from Comic-Con 2008 Q&A. I could eventually download Episode 3 but it's only available from September 23. Anyway, I watch the SD version since it was faster to download. I also downloaded the HD trailer for the first movie but be patient since it's a big file. Yes, it's in my rent queue.

Cast: Casper Van Dien, Jolene Blalock, Stephen Hogan, Boris Kodjoe

Conclusion

Starship Troopers 3: Marauders is a rent and a buy for Trooper Fan's. Even if you don't like this kind of movie, it's the first Blu-Ray movies that actually used the HD. Other Blu-Ray movies that I reviewed previously often had SD content from the DVD.
