The Rambo movie series is one that really launched the genre of the lone ex-military from the Vietnam War. But before dismissing this movie, you should watch it just to know more on Burma.

What is Rambo?

John Rambo and mercenaries must rescue a group of Christian Aid workers from Myanmar(Burma).

The movie review

The story is very simple since it's a Rambo movie after all. So, I won't elaborate more on that. What is harder to watch is how worthless human life is in Burma.

Something I noted was the CGI in this movie. When you see explosion, you also see limbs exploding and going in the air. Yes, the kill count is high too.

Rambo (Blu-Ray) was encoded in AVC and last 1h32. This Blu-Ray release has: 1 commentary, BonusView(PiP),  7 featurettes(HD),  4 deleted scenes, Molog and trailers (HD).

Molog took 3-4 to download. I just watch part of the demo which is a step by step way of creating animation using Rambo related items. For a kid movie it's okay but not for Rambo.

I randomly listen to Stallone commentary and he explained the why of the scenes. For example, the bad guy was a real Burma Hero/Rebel. He and others were risking their life and family in being in the movie(the secret police has a long reach). Sly even mentioned that the violence was even tone down.

If you have time to watch one featurette, just watch Legacy of Despair: The real Struggle in Burma.

One of the opening trailers was for the Rambo Ultimate Edition on DVD. What!!!! It's a Blu-Ray I'm watching.
