I just watch the last episode of Moonlight on CBS this morning. I do my love my PVR. Anyway, I followed the series because I love the vampire element and also the vampire society structure too. Seeing that CBS knew it was the last episode, I would had removed one of the last scene. I won’t spoil it for those that did not saw it yet.

Apparently, Jericho would be on cable and maybe Sci-Fi.

I hope it works out. The bad thing is that Sci-Fi is not available in Canada. We do have Space channel who was advertising that Jericho was a season finale. Hhmmmm? maybe they know something more…

I should start the “Second Life Channel” where all the good shows I like continues to live on. I just need the money now! Day break, Journeyman, Traveler ….and many of the 2006-2007 that died after only a few episodes. So, no American Idol, Canadian Idol or Dance with something…

Next week, it will be the season finale of Jericho or…. will it be the series finale?

I hope that it will continue next season because I really like Jericho. Of course, it is a “what if” scenario but it also demonstrate what could happen if a disaster would strike the USA. Okay, I’m far from them because I’m Canadian.

When Paramount decided to exclusively support HD-DVD in August, I decided to partially boycott them and not see their movies at the theater. I think, I went to seen only one since. It was easy for me because the number of English movies available was very small. I was mad, that by their action, they prolonged the HD format. Now, my boycott is over. Toshiba officially drop HD-DVD today. When will they start making a Blu-Ray player? They did not mentioned it.

Universal already announced that will join the Blu-Ray camp. But it will take some time to get their movies because there are behind the other studios on that front. That I understand it very well.

Surprisingly, Paramount/Dreamwork did not comment the news yet. Paramount, on another hand, has already a few movies in stock. They were not release when they made the switch to HD-DVD. They are behind by 6 months on that front. Maybe they want to make it special by announcing those titles in stock at the same time.

Don’t worry, price of Blu-Ray players will not rise because Blu-Ray has to compete with DVD and themself. Plus, those(vast majority) on the sideline will start to invest in Blu-Ray products. And don’t worry, your old DVD will still work in a Blu-Ray player. The image will be even better(upconvert) but it would not be real HD.

Let’s start watching HD(Blu-Ray) movies together hand in hand like happy movie fan’s!

This week is the official launch to the TV season where most new shows will start. I have a seen a few pilots and I saw a good crop this year plus the returning shows.

Here are a few new shows that I looked forward: Chuck, Jouneyman, Reaper, Bionic Woman, Life, Moonlight

A note about Moonlight: Yes, it’s an Angel-clone but I will still give it a chance to show me it’s own style. Remember that vampires work at night and action series are either private eye or law enforcement thus crime related. I could say that Angel was a semi-clone of Forever Night(1989) where the main character was a cop.

A drama would have more jobs opportunities. Examples of tag lines per job:

IT: “It will suck the bugs out of your computer before sunrise”
Baker: “The bread will be fresh every morning or it will die trying”
Overseas Stock trader: “It will double your money or it will see the light of day”

Also, Bionic Woman is a remake, of course, and Reaper looked like Brimstone(1998, it took time to find the title) with both bounty hunters for the devil but Reaper is funnier.

Like I mentioned in early post, it may be my last year watching new shows on TV. The only thing is that many are from NBC which is in the HD-DVD camp. Hopefully by this time next year or sooner, it will be a non issue for most HD fans.

The only thing is when I like a new show, they are quick to cancel it.
